Today, we did An Experiment. It was Experiment 3.1, in Module #3.
The Experiment was About:
I.Procedure:
A.Poured about 1/8 in.Water in a bowl.
B.We placed a drop of Food Coloring in the Water, to change the color.
C.We then placed a candle in the Food Coloring/ Water bowl Concentration & lit it.
D.We placed a Jar on top of the lit candle, the candle then went out.
E.The atmospheric pressure sucked the water in the Jar.
II.Analysis:
A.When we added the blue food coloring, in the water it turned blue.
B.The Candle still burned Because of the Great Oxygen Supply.
C.When we placed the Jar on the candle, the candle lowered the Atmospheric Pressure.
D. Then the Atmospheric Pressure on the outside of the Jar began Pushing the water Concentration in the Jar.
E.The candle went out, & the water continued to rise.
III. Conclusion:
A.Immediatly after I put my Jar on top of the burning candle, the Atmospheric Pressure on the outside of the Jar, started pushing against the Atmospheric Pressure on the Inside of the Jar.
B.The Water Started coming in the Jar, trying to level the Atmospheric Pressure.
C.The Candle went out, because the Oxygen level decreased, but the water continued to rise, still trying to level the Atmospheric Pressure.
D.The Atmospheric Pressure, was finally level, so the water stopped rising.
That was the End of My Expirement!!!!!
